Nadoukka Divin

Nadoukka Divin is a performance artist. With eyes set on the future beyond biotech, she explores human to human and interspecies communication by developing hard sci-fi scenarios, thought experiments and undergoing self-experimental protocols. These works progress into techno-experiential prototypes and exercises purposed for the facilitation of long-term data collection. Born in Siberia, Russia, by adulthood she found herself in the world-leading art and design institutions such as Central Saint Martin’s and Royal College of Art both located in London, UK. Be it fashion video, gif art (e.g. “Purpose of Empathy”) or sound design – her work early on had a focus on a scientific approach to human brain and perception. Constantly transpassing a wide array of disciplines from physiology and mathematics to psycholinguistics and parapsychology, she dedicates herself to constructing holistic visions within her Rhythm and Density project. Some of the streams one may find there are a researcher’s app “Glass Beads Game”, an imaginary community “Creative Creatures Covenant”, an architectural project for locations affected by volcanoes called “Beautiful Lava” and another experimental housing for space travel training called “Dom”. All these are developments of her scientific, experimental and intuitive discoveries about rhythm as an easily convertible communication language for both animate and seemingly inanimate. A hermit and nature child with a nomadic lifestyle, she has almost never presented her work.
