The second part of our AI hybrid art exhibition is fast approaching, and I’ve chosen to dive deeper into the fascinating world of AI art, which has recently captured global attention. This milestone in my artistic journey has inspired me to explore how AI can reshape the way we create. As someone who has always been intrigued by the intersection of technology and creativity, I’ve started to experiment with generative AI to bring characters to life.
My curiosity was first sparked by McDonald’s Japan’s groundbreaking AI-generated commercial, which was produced in collaboration with Luma AI and MidJourney. Seeing how they pushed the boundaries of character creation and storytelling made me realize the immense potential of these tools, especially in the realm of magic realism.
In their first-ever AI-driven ad, McDonald’s Japan partnered with Luma AI and MidJourney to create a vibrant and imaginative campaign, where their iconic French fries were reimagined in a surreal, magical world. What truly set the ad apart was its blend of the familiar and the fantastical—something that felt both grounded and dreamlike. Luma AI’s contribution, with its ability to generate realistic 3D models and immersive settings, was key to this seamless fusion of reality and magic. It allowed McDonald’s products to exist within a whimsical, otherworldly environment.
This campaign wasn’t just a bold step for advertising, but also a glimpse into the future of creative expression. Inspired by this innovative use of AI, I see incredible possibilities for digital art. Using platforms like MidJourney, Stable Diffusion 3, and Luma AI, the horizons are expanding in ways that feel limitless. As artists, we now have more tools than ever to experiment with—whether that’s in generating striking, polished visuals or crafting fully immersive, customized 3D worlds.
As AI becomes more integrated into the creative process, it’s exciting to imagine how these technologies will shape the future of art. The possibilities truly feel endless, and I’m eager to continue experimenting with these new tools to create something that feels truly magical.
